In Beijing (2008) alone, they brought home six gold, three silver and two bronze medals, ranking Jamaica at 14th position, over countries like Spain, Brazil, Denmark and Sweden.
Jamaicans have seen the black, green and gold flag fly high since our first appearance at the Olympic Games in 1948. This time around, we are expecting greater historical moments, despite the negative comments that have been made lately.
Excited and proud Jamaicans here and abroad will celebrate our titleholders and the world will celebrate with us. Music will fill the air to pay tribute to our winners and there will be no doubt that the bar has been raised even higher.
