Viewers throughout the Caribbean and in the diaspora of North America will now be able to see this weekend’s Jamaica National Senior Championships on SportsMax and CEEN TV as SportsMax and the IEC have come to an agreement for TV broadcast coverage from June 29 to July 1.
“We have had a breakthrough for the benefit of SportsMax and CEEN’s loyal subscribers and are now able to bring the National Trials to track fans outside of Jamaica, to SportsMax’s other 24 Caribbean markets and to CEEN Viewers in the tri-state area,” said Oliver McIntosh, president and CEO of SportsMax and CEEN.
SportsMax’s coverage of the Trials will be led by five-time Olympic commentator and analyst Lance Whittaker and will begin at 6:45 p.m. Jamaica time on June 29.
The National Senior Trials, slated for June 28 to July 1, will see the likes of Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, Yohan Blake, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and a constellation of Jamaica’s hopefuls in a race to the line for the coveted spots on Jamaica’s Olympic team to London 2012.
