Puma is out to change how sneakers are laced. At a press event Thursday night in New York City (with influencers and athletes including Yes Julz and Usain Bolt in attendance), the athletic standout unveiled its new Netfit technology, a customizable lacing system that, the brand says, offers infinite ways to lace up your shoes. The tech, according to Puma, also enhances the fit and support of the shoe, with its high-grade engineered net and formfitting base materials. Netfit isn’t limited to one type of silhouette Puma offers; the brand confirmed that it will use the innovation on several sports and performance shoes. Although the lacing possibilities are limitless, the brand has also developed five lacing options using the technology: Standard, for runners who need minimal support; Stability, for runners who need additional medial support; Wide Foot, for runners with wider feet who need extra room; Narrow Foot, for runners with narrow feet; and Heel Support, for runners who prefer a tighter fit around the heel. Usain Bolt joined YesJulz on stage at the PUMA NETFIT release party to discuss his involvement with PUMA and how they customize his spikes, along with how he […]

Former Boston Bruin player Graeme Towsnhead is hoping to coach Jamaica’s national hockey team all the way to the Winter Olympics. “I remember saying many times the only chance I’d ever have of playing the Olympics is if Jamaica had a team,” Townshead told CTV News Channel. Now Townshead is the head coach, assistant coach, trainer, water boy, and a stand-in during a power play for the Jamaican Under 20 National Ice Hockey Team. The players are from Canada and the U.S., but they all share Jamaican heritage. Unlike the iconic bobsledders, these guys have been playing hockey their whole lives, many of them playing in the OHL. This weekend the team is in Dartmouth, N.S. for a training camp and pair of exhibition games. “We want to wear the jersey with pride and, you know, show we can play with anyone at the highest level,” said player Jaden Lindo. 5-1 WIN!
