Get ready for the vibes because that is what Jason “Dadz” Morgan is all about. TeamJa.org had the pleasure of catching up with Jamaica’s National Record holder and Olympian in order to share a little of him with you.   THE GREAT “DADZ” You hardly hear Jason Morgan being called Jason or Morgan. The infamous nickname Dadz, has been recognized worldwide. “I have always been known as Dadz, since I was going to Waterford primary school. I got it from my father. Everybody called him dad; they knew I was his son, so they called me dad’s boy. The boy dropped off and I got my own name and image as Dadz. Dadz means the leader, someone with great responsibility. The name made it through primary, high school and has its place around the world.” The catchy nick name also has a catch word. When you hear the word “Timeless” you think of Dadz. Hansle Parchment son of Frances and Hansle is the 22 year old rising star who is as humble, fresh and pure as they come. TeamJa has been able to reach out and get a live update on Hansle and all that’s going on in his world so far.   DID YOU KNOW? Hansle actually started off as a thrower, but he would mess around and jump the hurdles while hurdlers were training and Coach Brian enough playing lets test it out. From that day on Hansle has moved forward to become a decorated young hurdler recently winning the 2012 Jamaican National Championships with a personal best of 13.18 in the 110m high hurdles.   DIPARCHMENT Many may not know that Hansle’s catchy last name leaves him with a various amounts of nickname Parchy, Patchy, Big Parch, Blab and many more. Dreams are meant to become a reality and hard work is meant to be rewarded.  At all times God is to be Glorified and each step of the way one should keep Moving in Faith” ~ Zara Northover   There has been a Moving in Faith movement over the last few years and Zara Northover has been spreading the motto through t-shirts, bracelets and words of encouragement.   It all started in 2007 for Northover as she and fellow captains of the Women’s Track and Field program at Northeastern University in Boston came together to rally their team to win their first Colonial Athletic Association championship.  “My team needed uplifting and therefore other captains and I went out and bought tank tops that we designed together the night before our competition.  On the back of mine I wrote moving in faith and all my teammates names. During my speech I said that we are not doing this for just ourselves or our school, but this is for our family, each other and for God.  We just have to keep Moving in Faith because at all costs we will then be unstoppable.”  Needless to say Northover scored 34 points in the throws […]

Spitzen Leichtathletik Switzerland Meet: Yohan Blake stops the clock at 9.85s

Jamaican Sprinters continue to show their dominance in Switzerland at the Spitzen Leichtathletik meet, which is presently taking place. The race finished just as quickly as it started with Yohan Blake separating himself decisively from the pack. He maintained form and speed to cross the finish line well ahead of the other runners. The top four positions were secured by Caribbean sprinters; namely Yohan Blake, Michael Frater, Marc Burns and Lerone Clarke. Their times were 9.85, 10.00, 10.00 and 10.12 respectively. Jamaican superstar sprinter Usain Bolt and long time sprint rival Asafa Powell did not compete in the meet as both are taking the time to recover from injuries and prepare for the London 2012 Olympic Games that will commence in the next two weeks. Shermain Williams, Jamaican 110m hurdles sprinter also competed and placed 8th in the women’s event. She clocked 12.78 behind Ginnie Crawford of the United States who won that event.
